ഗാലക്സികളുടെ പരിവേഷ വലയത്തിനു സമീപം കാണപ്പെടുന്ന നക്ഷത്രക്കൂട്ടത്തിനാണ് ഗോളീയ താരവ്യൂഹം (Globular Cluster) എന്നു പറയുന്നത്. ഈ താരവ്യൂഹം ഗാലക്സികളുടെ കേന്ദ്രത്തെ ചുറ്റിസഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നു. നമ്മുടെ ഗാലക്സിയായ ആകാശഗംഗയിൽ ഏതാണ്ട് 120-ഓളം ഗോളീയ താരവ്യൂഹങ്ങളെ കണ്ടെത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
