കടലിൽ പാറകെട്ടുകളിൽ ഒട്ടിപ്പിടിച്ചു വളരുന്ന കടൽ ജീവിയാണ് കല്ലുമ്മക്കായ അഥവാ കടുക്ക. ("ഞവുണിക്ക") കക്കയുടെ വർഗത്തിലുള്ള കട്ടിയുള്ള പുറംതോടുള്ള മത്സ്യം (shell fish). കക്ക പോലെ തന്നെ ഇതും ഭക്ഷ്യയോഗ്യമായ ഒരു ജീവിയാണ്.ഇതിന്റെ തോടിന് പൊതുവെ നീല, പച്ചയും കറുപ്പും കലർന്ന നിറമാണ്. കേരളത്തിലെ മലബാർ തീരത്തു കൂടുതലായി കാണപ്പെടുന്നു. ഇന്ന് കേരളത്തിന്റെ തീരപ്രദേശത്ത് ഒട്ടുമിക്ക സ്ഥലങ്ങളിലും കല്ലുമ്മക്കായ കൃഷി ചെയ്തു വരുന്നുണ്ട്.
മലബാറിൽ കല്ലുമ്മക്കായയ്ക്ക് കടുക്ക എന്നും പേരുണ്ട് . കോഴിക്കോട് ജില്ലയിൽ പയ്യോളിക്കും, തിക്കോടിക്കും ഇടയ്ക്ക് നാലഞ്ചു കിലോമീറ്റർ പടിഞ്ഞാറ് കടലിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന വെള്ളിയാൻകല്ലിലും അനുബന്ധ പാറകളിലും പണ്ട് ഇവ ധാരാളമായി വളർന്നിരുന്നു. ഇക്കാലത്ത് (ക്രിസ്ത്വബ്ദം 2013) പരിസ്ഥിതി ആഘാതവും കടൽജല മലിനീകരണവും കൊണ്ടാവാം വിളവു വളരെ കുറവാണ് . അതുപോലെ പണ്ടുള്ളത്ര രുചിയുണ്ടോ എന്നു സംശയം . ഇവിടെക്കൂടാതെ വടക്കേ മലബാറിൽ കണ്ണൂരും മംഗലാപുരത്തും ഇവ വളരുന്നുണ്ട്. കേരളത്തിൽ മിക്ക ജില്ലകളിലും വളരുന്നു.
