അമേരിക്ക ആസ്ഥാനമാക്കി ലാഭേച്ഛയില്ലാതെ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന സാങ്കേതിക തൊഴിൽ വിദഗ്ധരടെ അന്തരാഷ്ട്ര സംഘടനയാണ് ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് ഇലക്ട്രിക്കൽ ആന്റ് ഇലക്ട്രോണിക്സ് എഞ്ചിനീയേഴ്സ്. ഇതിനെ ചുരുക്കി ഐ-ട്രിപ്പിൾ ഇ (IEEE) എന്നാണ് വിളിക്കാറുള്ളത്. 160 രാജ്യങ്ങളിലായി 400,000 പേർ ഈ സംഘടനയിൽ അംഗങ്ങളാണ് ഇതിൽ 45% അളുകളും അമേരിക്കയ്ക്ക് പുറത്താണ്.[2][3]
1963-ലാണ് ഐട്രിപ്പിൾഇ സ്ഥപിതമായത്, ഇൻസ്റ്റിട്ട്യൂറ്റ് ഓഫ് റേഡിയോ എഞ്ചിനിയേഴ്സും (IRE, സ്ഥാപിതം 1912) അമേരിക്കൻ ഇൻസ്റ്റിട്ട്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് ഇലക്ട്രിക്കൽ എഞ്ചിനിയേഴ്സും (AIEE സ്ഥാപിതം 1884) 1963-ൽ ലയിച്ചത് വഴിയാണ് ഐട്രിപ്പിൾഇ രൂപം കൊണ്ടത്.
