എസ്.എൻ.185
ക്രി.പി. 185ൽ കാണപ്പെട്ട സൂപ്പർനോവയാണ് S.N.185. ചരിത്രത്തിൽ ആദ്യമായി രേഖപ്പെടുത്തപ്പെട്ട സൂപ്പർനോവയും ഇതാണ്. Book of Later Han എന്ന കൃതിയിൽ ചൈനീസ് ജ്യോതിശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞർ ഇതിനെ കണ്ടതായി രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.[1] പുരാതന റോമൻ സാഹിത്യത്തിലും ഇതിനെ കുറിച്ച് സൂചനകളുണ്ട്.[2] എട്ടു മാസത്തോളം ഇതിനെ ആകാശത്തു തെളിഞ്ഞു കണ്ടിരുന്നുവത്രെ.
ഇതിന്റെ വാതകാവശിഷ്ടമാണ് RCW86. ഭൂമിയിൽ നിന്നും 2800 പാർസെക് അകലെയാണ് ഇതിന്റെ സ്ഥാനം.[3] ആധുനിക എക്സ്-റേ പഠനങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും ഇതിന്റെ പ്രായം നിർണ്ണയിച്ചതിൽ തെറ്റുപറ്റിയിട്ടില്ല എന്നു വ്യക്തമായിട്ടുണ്ട്.[4]
