പ്രമുഖ ഇന്ത്യൻ മാർക്സിസ്റ്റ് ചരിത്രകാരനാണ് ഇർഫാൻ ഹബീബ്.(ജ:1931) പ്രാചീന, മദ്ധ്യകാല ഭാരതചരിത്രത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ഗവേഷണപഠനങ്ങൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പ്രധാന സംഭാവനകളിൽപ്പെടുന്നു. ഹൈന്ദവ, ഇസ്ലാം മൗലികവാദത്തോട് കടുത്ത എതിർപ്പുള്ള വ്യക്തി ആയിരിന്നു ഇദ്ദേഹം [1]. മുഗൾ കാലഘട്ടത്തിലെ കാർഷിക വ്യവസ്ഥയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള (1556-1707) ഒരു സുപ്രധാന ഗ്രന്ഥത്തിന്റെ കർത്താവു കൂടിയാണ് അദ്ദേഹം.
വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം[തിരുത്തുക]
അലിഗഢ് മുസ്ലിം സർവ്വകലാശാലയിൽ നിന്നും ചരിത്രത്തിൽ ബി.എ, എം.എ ബിരുദങ്ങൾ നേടിയ ഹബീബ് തുടർന്നു ഓക്സ്ഫഡിലെ ന്യൂ കോളേജിലാണ് ഉപരിപഠനം നടത്തിയത്. ഡോക്റ്റർ സി.സി ഡേവിസിനു കീഴിൽ ഡി.ഫിൽ പൂർത്തിയാക്കുകയും തുടർന്ന് അദ്ധ്യാപനത്തിലേയ്ക്കും ഗവേഷണത്തിലേയ്ക്കും തിരിയുകയും ചെയ്തു.
സ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ[തിരുത്തുക]
1975-77 വരെയും 1984-94 വരെയും അലിഗഢ് മുസ്ലിം സർവ്വകലാശാലയിലെ അഡ്വാൻസ് സ്റ്റഡി വിഭാഗത്തിന്റെ എകോപകൻ/ചെയർമാൻ ആയിരിന്നു. 1986 മുതൽ 1990 വരെ ഇന്ത്യൻ കൌൺസിൽ ഫോർ ഹിസ്ടോറിക്കൽ റിസർച്ചിന്റെ ചെയർമാൻ ആയിരിന്നു[2]. ഇന്ത്യൻ ഹിസ്ററി കോൺഗ്രസിൽ ജനറൽ സെക്രട്ടറി, സെക്ക്ഷനൽ പ്രസിഡണ്ട്‌, ജനറൽ പ്രസിഡണ്ട്‌ (1981) എന്നീ സ്ഥാനങ്ങളിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു [citation needed].
